American Black Metal Records releases: Resurrection of an American Heretic

American Black Metal Records is pleased to announce the debut release from New York Black/Thrash metal band Ov Dust: Resurrection of an American Heretic. The album is the band's first full length release following a short three song demo branded 'impressively jagged' by Decibel Magazine. Recorded and mixed at Overit Studios during the spring of 2010 and mastered by legendary producer Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, MDC, Eyes Of Hate, Raw Power), Resurrection of an American Heretic is comprised of nine tracks spanning more than 50 minutes and illustrates the bands talent for mixing elements of black metal with old school thrash creating a distinctive brand of extreme metal.

Formed in early 2008 Ov Dust firmly stepped away from the embittered mainstream, straddling the line between the underground and misunderstood, creating the grinding music of inherent dissension. With the release of the debut album, the unmistakable sounds of incendiary heresy, initially indistinguishable from the rustling of leaves across the autumn floor, now roar with unabated yearning and intent, signaling the Resurrection of an American Heretic.

Bio

Formed in early 2008, ov dust firmly stepped away from the embittered mainstream, straddling the line between the underground and misunderstood, to create the grinding music of inherent dissension.

After a realignment in early 2010, in which founding members Steve and John stripped the band down to its core, the duo went on to record and release their debut record ‘Resurrection of an American Heretic’ on their own label American Black Metal Records. The album blends elements of necro black metal with old school thrash and hardcore punk, along with elusive, metaphorical tones providing a unique, yet familiar, take on extreme music.

In 2011, with the desire to maintain creative integrity within the band while enabling live performance and musical growth, the band recruited bassist Jason Jette and vocalist N. Dru Virus. Both members come from divergent backgrounds, indie noise punk and industrial respectively, yet have merged seamlessly to contribute to the overall sound of the band.

During the fall of 2011, the band entered the studio to record a two song EP with legendary producer Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Sick Of It All, MDC, Eyes Of Hate, Raw Power). The result, titled ‘Stir ov Echoes’, is a thirteen minute thick, heavy, and ripping reintroduction to the band.

Now with a revamped lineup and refocused determination, ov dust is charging ahead full bore, brandishing its roaring, incendiary heresy with unabated vigor and sonic fury.
